Two burglaries reported in residence halls

A burglary of a residence hall room was reported in January in two halls. The investigations into are continuing in both incidents.  Jan. 17, a resident of South Quadrangle reported that clothing items were taken between 3-3:30 p.m. when the room was unoccupied.  Jan. 24, residents of a West Quadrangle room reported that cash, medication and personal items had been taken from their room between 10:05-11:45 a.m. There are no initial suspects in either incident. 

Police urge precautions after four off-campus armed robberies

Students and other community members are urged to use caution when walking at night after four armed robberies were reported to the Ann Arbor Police between Jan. 25 and Feb. 5.  All four incidents targeted students walking alone in the off-campus neighborhood south of East Quadrangle Residence Hall. No one was injured in any of the incidents.

DPSS and AAPD increased patrols in the neighborhood. Additionally, students are urged to walk in pairs or groups or use alternate, after-hours transportation, keep porch lights on and be aware of surroundings.
